TRANSPORTATION SERVICES:
The Village will provide rides to FULL members as follows:
● The Village will provide transportation services to its Full Members through the use of volunteers. All Village volunteers who provide transportation have been vetted for criminal background and driving record.
● Transportation is available for medical appointments (including physical therapy) and to attend NBV events. We cannot provide transportation for grocery shopping, prescription pick-up, and other similar errands.
● The member must be fully ambulatory. Canes and walkers are allowed, but we are unable to transport a member in a wheelchair or scooter. The member must be able to get into and out of the vehicle on his/her own. Drivers can provide assistance with folding and storing a cane or walker.
● We provide door-to-door services only, and are unable to accompany the member inside a facility for the receipt of services.
● We do not guarantee that a driver will be available for a requested ride. Where necessary, we may suggest alternative services, some of which may require a fee.
Depending on interest and the availability of volunteers, NBV hopes to be able to offer additional services to its FULL members, including minor household repairs, watering indoor plants, and in-home computer assistance. However, these services are not currently available.
SPECIAL MEMBERS-ONLY EVENTS: The Village will offer special events for both Full and Associate Members. Examples of these events are as follows:
● Members-only social events (e.g. lunches, happy hours, etc.)
● Members-only cultural events (e.g. museum tours, speakers)
● Members-only classes (e.g. cooking classes, wine-tasting)
● Priority registration for high-demand events and classes (e.g. Mah Jongg instruction and tournaments, Teen Tech assistance)
